Drew’s passing
Drew passed away Friday, September 7, 2007 at 3:45pm of respiratory failure secondary to quadriplegia that resulted from a gunshot wound to his neck on May 7, 2007, in Baqubah, Iraq.
In accordance with a decision made prior and put forth in an advance directive prior to his first deployment, Drew elected to be removed from artificial life support. In understanding the delicate and personal nature of the situation Drew consulted only with immediate family and medical personnel prior to the execution on his wishes.
His wife, parents, brothers, extended families and friends will miss him beyond anything words can convey. We will honor the memory of Drew by remembering his life, accomplishments and the memories we shared. We wish him eternal peace in heaven and know he will be looking out for us all.
